At Saboten Kenjutsu, we aim to provide a transparent, straightforward pricing structure. Our class fees are calculated on a 4-week-per-month basis for a consistent monthly cost.
Quarterly Closures (included):
Our pricing includes one planned closure per quarter (four per year) for maintenance, staff training, and program development. We announce these in advance.
Holiday Weekend Closures (priced-in):
We close on most holiday weekends—when a widely observed holiday creates a standard long weekend (Fri–Mon or Sat–Mon). This typically includes, but isn’t limited to: MLK Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day (when observed on Fri/Mon), Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas weekend. These closures are anticipated and priced into our flat monthly rate; we do not prorate or credit for them. When feasible, we offer a make-up option or alternate training time.
Tournament Closures (priced-in; up to 2/year):
To support student development and competition experience, the dojo may close for tournaments no more than twice per year. These rare closures are anticipated and priced-in; we provide advance notice and, when feasible, offer an alternate training option.
Mother’s/Father’s Day:
We remain open. Attendance is optional; we may run an open-mat or family-focused session. If we ever choose to close on these days, it will be counted under our Quarterly Closures.
If an instructor is ill or an emergency arises (e.g., facility issue, power outage, severe weather), we may need to close on short notice. We will communicate as quickly as possible via text/email and update the website. When feasible, we’ll offer a make-up option or alternate training time.
